Dummheit: Jeder kennt sie, jeder erleidet sie (vornehmlich die der Anderen). Aber wer könnte erklären, was Dummheit als solche sei?
Erschwerend kommt hinzu, dass man als naiver Dummheits-Erklärer seinerseits in die dumme Rolle des Besserwissers stolpert. Spricht man also über Dummheit, hüte man sich eingedenk der eigenen vor Ernsthaftigkeit. Dummheit – Ein sehr ernster Versuch kann folglich nur spielen. Der Essay spielt mit Formen, Stilen, Gedanken, Parodien wider den dummen Ernst. Und wenn dann einige Gesichter der Dummheit kenntlich werden, psychologische, kulturelle, hierarchische, dann wird sich auch zeigen: Ohne Dummheit ist Menschsein nicht denkbar.
